If website owners need to monetize their websites to earn more money
then a fantastic way of doing this is through Google's AdSense program.
There are loads of website owners and webmasters who are keen to earn some
money from their websites, whether it be to simply pay the hosting bills
or maybe having a little bit extra cash each month. Then there are some of
the 'gurus' out there that are raking in hundreds of dollars each day from
simply placing AdSense on their websites. What are these people who are
making thousands each month doing differently to those that are struggling
to make just ten dollars a month?
As is so often the case, those that are making the money are taking a
concept that is available to everyone and thinking outside the box on the
implementation.
Fortunately, there are some guru adsense webmasters out there that are
willing to share some really help tips and advice to assist those that
want to start earning passive income from AdSense or those that want to
improve their existing earnings. Some of these tips can boost your income
several fold, so they really are worth listening to and implementing.
So here are 5 surefire methods to boost your AdSense income.
- Concentrate on using just one ad format on your websites. The format
that has been proven to be the most effective is the Large Rectangle ad
(336x280). It is more effective because it can result in a higher
click-through rate (CTR). The reason for this is because web users have
been conditioned to be 'ad blind' to standard size rectangular banners
but the Large Rectangle ad simply looks like a series of links - not
like an ad at all!
- Blend your ads to the colour scheme of your website. This may sound
obvious, but if your website has a white background, make your ads have
a white background and border. When your ads don't look like ads they
will receive a higher CTR. So often people that are new to Adsense will
use the standard colours which might as well come with a flashing
warning sign telling users that they are about to click on a paid ad.
- Remove your AdSense ads from the bottom of your website and place
them near the top. Google has an excellent image 'heat map' that shows
the most effective places to put your ads. Not suprisingly the best
place is smack bang in the middle where your content would be. Try to
place at least one ad block in this position if you seriously want to
improve your CTR and earnings.
- Test your ads and test again. The successful Adsense webmaster is
never satisfied with their current earnings. They will continually test
different colours, positions and sizes to find the perfect ad. Make
notes on every change that you make and track the changes. Try to change
one variable each week (maybe the link colour or text colour or ad size)
and record how your earnings go up or down.
- Automating the insertion of your AdSense code is essential if you
have a large website with dozens or even hundreds of pages. The best way
to do this is with Server Side Includes (SSI) or using a PHP include.
Most servers support both methods but if you are unsure how to implement
it on your site, get a programmer from scriptlance.com to help you. The
automated insertion of your Adsense code enables you to update and test
different ad formats very easily without changing all your files.
The above 5 tips are just some of the methods that have worked well for
webmasters who are generating huge amounts of money every month from
Adsense. It is important to point out that Google serves up the ads
displayed on your page based on the content that it finds on that page, so
keeping your website tightly focused on a particular subject is very
important to ensure Google only serves up ads that are relevant to what
your visitors are reading.
